Pilgrims to miss out on free agent
Crystal Palace are poised to beat Plymouth to the signing of Tony Capaldi on a free transfer.
Capaldi had been offered a deal at Plymouth after impressing Pilgrims boss Peter Reid on trial.
However, Palace have now moved in for the Northern Ireland international and Eagles boss George Burley has revealed a deal is close to being done.
"We are aiming to complete a deal with Tony Capaldi," he said.
"He's an experienced Championship defender and fills the hole we have at left-back. Young Lee Hills will be out for a few months and we need someone to fill that gap."
