Gus Poyet is expecting Scunthorpe to make a bid to sign Brighton & Hove Albion defender Jim McNulty.

Brighton defender tipped for permanent move to Iron

Gus Poyet is expecting Scunthorpe United to make a bid to sign Brighton & Hove Albion defender Jim McNulty on a permanent basis. McNulty has recently returned to Albion following a loan spell at Glanford Park and has expressed a desire to sign a long-term deal with Scunthorpe. The Iron are in the market for a left-back after seeing Marcus Williams join Reading and are tipped to make an approach for McNulty. Poyet insists he has had no further contact with Scunthorpe counterpart Nigel Adkins, but the Uruguayan admits he would not be surprised to hear from him in the future. "To be fair we don't know if they will make an offer, but probably, yes they will," Poyet told The Argus. "But nobody has contacted us. It depends on many things."
