Midfielder has injection before surgery decision is made

Doncaster Rovers are waiting to see if an injection will help Brian Stock's back problem before deciding whether to send the midfielder for an operation. Stock has been restricted to just 14 appearances in the Championship for Rovers this season and has missed the club's last two games. Sean O'Driscoll confirmed earlier this week that, should Stock require surgery on the injury, then he will miss the rest of the campaign. However, the Rovers manager has confirmed the club are waiting to see what effect an injection has on the 28-year-old before making a firm decision. "Brian had the injection on Friday," O'Driscoll told the club's official website. "We'll see how that pans out and see what the reaction is. "We will go on to make a decision with Brian as and when."
