South African midfielder fails to earn new deal with Rovers
Experienced midfielder Quinton Fortune has left Doncaster after failing to win a contract extension.
The former Manchester United and Bolton winger joined Rovers on a six-month deal last summer, having impressed during a pre-season trial.
His time at the Keepmoat Stadium began brightly, as he made several appearances in Sean O'Driscoll's starting XI and even captained the team during a Championship fixture against Queens Park Rangers.
However, the injury problems which have blighted his career soon resurfaced and first-team opportunities became increasingly rare.
Following Fortune out of the exit door is fellow midfielder Jack Wilson, who has also been unable to earn a new deal.
The youngster impressed O'Driscoll prior to the 2009/10 campaign getting underway and was handed a short-term contract as a result.
The former Hibernian trainee struggled to force his way into the fold at Rovers, though, with the club well-stocked in the middle of the park.
