Huddersfield have signed Preston defender Neal Trotman on loan until the end of the season.
As revealed by skysports.com earlier this month, Huddersfield were lining up a move for Trotman to bolster their defensive options.
Trotman spent the first half of the season on loan at Southampton and will aim to enjoy more regular first-team football with Lee Clark's promotion-chasing side.
Huddersfield boss Lee Clark has been keen to strengthen his defence and he hopes Trotman can shore up his leaky rearguard.
The Lilywhites signed the highly-rated 22-year-old in January 2008 from Oldham but the defender's progress at Deepdale has been hindered by injury.
The deal can be extended beyond the regular season should Huddersfield reach the play-offs and there is no recall clause in the deal.
Meanwhile, Huddersfield have loaned out defensive duo Jack Hunt and Leigh Franks to non-league teams on month-long deals.
Hunt will move to Blue Square Premier side Grays Athletic, while Franks has joined Blue Square North league leaders Fleetwood Town.
Terriers' boss Lee Clark is keen for both youngsters, who have featured prominently for Town's reserves, to gain some first-team experience in the lower leagues.
"Going on loan to play competitive matches helps bridge the gap between youth team football and first team and allows us to see how the players are developing," he told the club's official website.
"This gives us insights that we don't get from reserve team football.
"They need to be part of a side where winning matters and now they will be."
