Centre-half on Huddersfield's transfer radar

Huddersfield Town are lining up a loan move for Preston's Neal Trotman, skysports.com understands. The promising defender spent the first half of the season on loan at Southampton and impressed on the South Coast. Trotman joined Preston from Oldham in January 2008 after just 18 starts for the Latics, but his time at Deepdale was interrupted last season by a serious injury. Preston are keen for him to gain experience of first-team football and it seems unlikely new boss Darren Ferguson will stand in his way of a further loan switch. Huddersfield are right in the mix for a promotion tilt in League One and see Trotman as an ideal addition to their ranks. During his stint at St Mary's the centre-half made 18 starts and scored twice.
