Birmingham poised to land striker

Birmingham are set to clinch the signing of highly-rated Honduran striker Carlos Costly, skysports.com understands. The 26-year-old is currently plying his trade in Poland for Belchatow, but he has been looking to move to England for the past 12-months. He trained with Leeds, Plymouth and Birmingham last year, but deals failed to materialise. Los Angeles Galaxy, Kansas City Wizards and Mexicans Monterrey would all like to take him back across the Atlantic. But Costly wants to remain in Europe, and with a number of teams again showing an interest from across the continent, he finally looks set to land his move to England. Costly, who will arrive on loan with a view to a permanent deal, will have few issues receiving a work permit with Honduras currently ranked 40th in the world.
