Charlton midfielder Amdy Faye is hoping to secure a move to Stoke after linking up with the club on trial.
The former Portsmouth and Newcastle man is currently training with the Premier League new boys after Tony Pulis made an enquiry for the defensive midfielder.
Faye spent last season on loan at Rangers, but endured a frustrating time in Glasgow after failing to settle in Scotland.
Charlton boss Alan Pardew is keen to offload Faye as he looks to trim his squad and raise funds for his own signings.
Faye has been recommended to Pulis by Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp and the Stoke chief believes the player's experience could make him a key addition to his squad.
The 31-year-old has made over 90 Premier League appearances during his time at Portsmouth, Newcastle and Charlton, and he is hoping to get the chance to help establish Stoke back in the top flight.
"I have enjoyed my time training at Stoke and everyone has made me feel very welcome," Faye told
skysports.com.
"I know some of the lads here already like Salif Diao, Andy Griffin and Vincent Pericard and things have gone well so far.
"I have been impressed by Tony Pulis and the club and I believe they can go on to great things.
"I would like to be a part of that and help the club establish itself in the Premier League.
"I am keen to get back playing in the Premier League and get my career back on track."
