Aberdeen boss Jimmy Calderwood is disappointed to have missed out on a deal to re-sign Sone Aluko.
The young winger spent last season on loan at Aberdeen from Birmingham City and impressed Calderwood with his performances.
Calderwood had agreed another loan deal with Birmingham, but Aluko instead opted to join Championship side Blackpool.
"It's a real disappointment," said Calderwood in the Daily Record.
"Sone decided he would rather play closer to home."
Aluko made his debut for Blackpool as a substitute in Saturday's Championship defeat at home to Bristol City.
