Birmingham close on Ghana star

Quincy Owusu-Abeyie wants to join Birmingham City, his agent has claimed. Everton, Fulham, Monaco and Lille have all being linked with a move for the former Arsenal youngster - who is now with Russian giants Spartak Moscow. Despite the interest from the Premier League, his agent Leon Callender claims a deal with Blues is close to completion. "We're at the final hurdle right now, hopefully it will all be completed very soon," agent Leon Callender told the Birmingham Mail. "From the day dot, Quincy has been very impressed with Birmingham and he wants to join. "We came down to have a look round when Marcus Bent was being signed I think it was, and sorted out personal terms and all the rest of it. "As soon as we walked out of the meeting with Birmingham, Quincy turned to me and said 'this is the place for me'. "He's totally dedicated to Birmingham and even though other teams have now come into the equation, he has made it clear he is not interested. "Spartak may be getting offers for a bit more but Quincy has told them that it's Birmingham or nothing, so it's just about the clubs sorting the monies out."
