Crystal Palace's on-loan defender Jose Fonte admits he does not know whether he will be staying with the club.
Fonte joined in the summer on a season-long loan from Benfica, but he has two-years left on his current deal at The Estadio da Luz.
The 24-year-old admits he would be open to the idea of a permanent switch to Selhurst Park.
"If the gaffer wants me here and things in Benfica don't go as I want I would look at a permanent deal," he told the South London press.
"If I was still there (in Portugal) I might be playing, because they are struggling for centre backs at the moment. A new manager is coming in as well, so I'm not sure what is going to happen.
"I'll just wait in the next couple of weeks and maybe we can sort it out - I don't want to wait until the last day."
