Midfielder returns to Crewe on month's loan

Steve Holland has expressed his delight after midfielder Kenny Lunt returned to Crewe Alexandra on loan. Lunt has signed a one-month deal with his former club after struggling for first-team opportunities at Sheffield Wednesday this season. He is likely to be in the squad for Saturday's League One game at Leeds United and Crewe's first-team coach Holland feels the signing is a big boost in the club's relegation battle. "We are delighted to have got a player of Kenny's ability and experience on loan," Holland told the club's official website.

Outstanding

"He has an outstanding player record, playing over 400 matches and he must have played over 350 of them in the Championship. He is hardly ever injured and he knows all about us and we know all about him. "It is only a month at this stage of the proceedings because he hasn't featured as much as he would have liked at Sheffield Wednesday and is desperate to get his career back on track. "It is fantastic to have a player of his calibre to want to come back here and help us in what is proving to be a relegation fight. It is a real bonus for us. "Although he hasn't played too many times for the first team at Sheffield Wednesday this season, he is a regular for their reserves, so his general fitness should be fine. He's maybe short of one or two games, but should be okay for the weekend."
