Defender's loan deal is made permanent

Clint Hill has joined Crystal Palace on a permanent basis from Stoke. The left-back has been on loan at Selhurst Park since November and has been a reliable performer in his 17 games for the club. He has also chipped in with three goals and Neil Warnock is thrilled to have secured him on a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee. "I'm delighted to finally welcome Clint Hill on board permanently," Warnock told Palace's official website. "He may not be the type of player who catches the eye of many opposition teams but he is a manager's type of player. "He is always one of the first on the team sheet and his overall contribution during his loan spell has been a big factor in our climb up the table." Hill began his career at Tranmere and also had a spell at Oldham before moving to Stoke.
