Southampton keeper joins Torquay on loan

Southampton goalkeeper Michael Poke has joined Torquay on a month-long loan. Kelvin Davis and Bartosz Bialkowski are currently first and second choice at St Mary's and Poke has been sent out to gain some first-team experience. Torquay are flying high in the Blue Square Premier and manager Paul Buckle is happy to have brought in Poke. "Michael comes highly recommended and with a good pedigree. "He will strengthen the squad and I'm sure he will make a big impact in his time with us." Poke, who has only recently recovered from knee surgery, is not eligible for Torquay's FA Carlsberg Trophy game against Newport County on Saturday. He will come into contention for the trip to Salisbury on 19th January.
