Deepdale boss says midfield pair can leave

Paul Simpson has told unsettled midfield duo Jason Jarrett and Adam Nowland that they are free to leave Preston. The pair have fallen out of favour under Preston manager Simpson and he has now made it clear they are heading for the Deepdale exit in a bid to raise funds for the January transfer window. Nowland is currently on loan at Gillingham, while Jarrett has spent this season in the Preston reserves. "The situation remains the same," Simpson told the Lancashire Evening Post, "Both of them can go." Simpson has admitted he has had a disagreement with Jarrett over the role the former Norwich player can perform for Preston. "I've talked to him about the job I think he can do for the team, but he thinks he has more to offer than what I'm asking him to do," Simpson added. "If he doesn't want to do what I want then he won't be playing, it's as simple as that."
