Watford have confirmed the appointment of Gianfranco Zola as their new manager on a two-year contract to replace Sean Dyche.

Italian signs two-year deal as Dyche's replacement

Watford have confirmed the appointment of Gianfranco Zola as their new manager. Zola replaces Sean Dyche at the helm at Vicarage Road following his sacking earlier this week. The appointment of Zola has been mooted since the takeover of the club by the Pozzo family. Giampaolo Pozzo had revealed earlier this week that they had reached a verbal agreement to appoint former West Ham chief Zola and now the club have confirmed the news. Zola has signed a two-year deal at Vicarage Road and the Hornets' technical director, Gianluca Nani, believes the former Chelsea ace is the perfect fit for Watford. "Everyone knows how Gianfranco Zola likes football to be played," Nani told the club's official website. "I think Watford's fans can expect an exciting and attacking style from his team. Gianfranco represents this project perfectly."
