Dyche delighted to keep hold of defender

Long-serving defender Lloyd Doyley has signed a new deal at Watford to keep him at Vicarage Road until 2013. The 28-year-old was due to see his previous deal expire at the end of this season but has agreed to extend his stay by a further year. Doyley is closing in on 350 appearances for the Hornets since making his debut in 2001. Hornets boss Sean Dyche was full of praise for Doyley for the impact he has had at the club.

Deserving

"Lloyd stands for what this club is all about. He's fantastically honest and there's no-one more deserving to be at Watford," he told the club's official website. "Lloyd is far more talented than he's given credit for. In fact he's a vital cog in turning the wheels of the football side of the club. "I hope he has a great testimonial year and continues to serve the club as he has for a long time."
