Southampton striker to spend season at Vicarage Road

Southampton striker Grzegorz Rasiak has joined Championship rivals Watford on a season-long loan. Rasiak, 29, signed for the Saints from Tottenham Hotspur in 2006 before moving to Premier League club Bolton Wanderers on loan for the second half of last season. Hornets boss Aidy Boothroyd will have the option to secure the Poland international, who has scored 33 goals in 84 appearances for Southampton, on a permanent deal at the end of the campaign should he impress during his time at Vicarage Road.

Target

Rasiak told Watford's official website: "My target is always to help the team win as many games as possible, if we are doing that then I'm sure my goals will be coming too. "I will give 100 per cent for the club and try to help the team as much as I can. There were a few other offers, mainly from other Championship sides and abroad. "I spent some good times at Southampton but now I am looking forward to doing something more at Watford and I believe the club can get to the Premier League."
