Watford have confirmed midfielder Al Bangura was sent home early from their pre-season tour of Austria.
The Hornets stated disciplinary reasons were behind their decision, but refused to detail what rules the 20-year-old had broken.
Bangura, who will now miss the club's season-opener against Crystal Palace, was threatened with deportation to Sierra Leone last season before the club won a high-profile campaign to keep the youngster in the county.
"The club can confirm Al Bangura returned home early from the recent tour of Austria for disciplinary reasons," read a statement on the club's official website.
"These have since been dealt with internally. Al Bangura remains an important part of the Watford squad ahead of what is an important season for the midfielder."
