Ellington makes Hornets move

West Brom striker signs on at Vicarage Road

Watford have completed the signing of West Brom striker Nathan Ellington for an undisclosed fee. The 26-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a four-year-deal at Vicarage Road, in a transfer that ends an unsettled summer for Ellington. The former Wigan attacker was reportedly unhappy after Baggies boss Tony Mowbray brought in a number of striking reinforcements in pre-season, and has now moved on as he attempts to find the form that once secured him 24 goals in the 2004-05 season. A fee for Ellington has not been revealed, although a £3million price-tag is believed to have previously been slapped upon the striker. Hornets' manager Adrian Boothroyd had revealed his interest in Ellington, stating that he was a player that he had admired for a 'very, very long time' and will undoubtedly be delighted to secure his signature. Ellington scored for the final time in West Brom colours in Tuesday's Carling Cup clash with Peterborough, in which he netted the second goal in a 2-0 victory. Boothroyd is now in possession of one of the Championship's largest attacks, with Marlon King, Tamas Priskin, Tommy Smith, Darius Henderson, Steve Kabba and Will Hoskins also at his disposal.
