QPR MOVE ON-WARD

QUEENS PARK RANGERS have moved to ease their defensive injury crisis by swooping for Watford`s Darran Ward.

The 21-year-old Hornets youngster has recovered from a broken leg to rediscover the potential he showed as a teenager and his arrival will soften the blow of the absence of Danny Maddix, Ian Baraclough, Steve Morrow, Matthew Rose and Karl Ready.

"It has been a frustrating time as we have lost all of our first team central defenders with injury," said Gerry Francis (pictured). "After such a good start to the season, we find ourselves with five captains ruled out so Graham Taylor has very kindly helped us out and let us have Darran on a month`s loan."

Rangers had earlier been linked with a raid for Liverpool`s unsettled Republic of Ireland international Phil Babb but his personal demands were reportedly too excessive.
