Doncaster Rovers are facing a battle to keep hold of Giles Barnes, skysports.com understands.
The 23-year-old joined Doncaster in the summer after leaving West Bromwich Albion.
Barnes only signed a short-term contract and his current deal is due to expire on January 1st.
Doncaster have now opened talks about him extending to at least the end of the season after he featured in 18 games so far this term.
But skysports.com understands there is substantial interest from elsewhere.
Scottish league leaders Celtic are understood to be monitoring the situation, whilst Championship sides West Ham, Burnley and Ipswich are all thought to be keen.
