West Ham United striker Marlon Harewood has signed a new contract.

West Ham United striker Marlon Harewood has signed a contract extension with the Upton Park club.

The 25-year-old has penned a new deal until the summer of 2007 with the promotion-chasing Championship club.

A £500,000 signing from Nottingham Forest, Harewood was delighted to extend his stay with The Hammers.

"The environment around West Ham United is excellent, and the club is ambitious and looking to move forward," Harewood told the club's official website.

"I want to play in The Premiership with West Ham United.

"Promotion from this division is tough to achieve, but it's important that everyone stays focused on winning the next game and making sure there are no slip-ups."
