Simon Church has got the new lease of life he was praying for at Charlton.
The Welsh striker has scored three goals since moving to The Valley over the summer having grown disenchanted at previous club Reading.
"Ever since I came in for a bit of training the week before the start of the season, the manager and the players have welcomed me with arms wide open," he said.
"It's a great squad, a great team and it's a really nice club. Obviously the fans have been really patient towards me and it's just made me fit in straight away.
"For the past two or three years at Reading I wasn't happy. I didn't think I was getting treated how I should have done so it's a fresh start for me now here. I've settled in well, everyone has been tremendous since I've got in.
"It was a big thing for me in the summer to make sure I made the right choice in terms of my future because I want to kick on, I want to be playing in the Premier League.
"To do that I need to play matches. It's just the perfect fit to come here, it's a big club and a great fan base and it's just worked out really well."
