Scunthorpe United manager Alan Knill has confirmed there has been an enquiry for Andy Hughes.

Full-back could leave just six months after joining from Leeds

Scunthorpe United manager Alan Knill has confirmed there has been an enquiry for experienced full-back Andy Hughes. The 33-year-old only joined Scunthorpe in January from Leeds United and he made 19 appearances as the club were relegated from the Championship. He has a year remaining on his contract at Glanford Park, but is now considering the opportunity to change clubs before the start of the season. Hughes was left out of the Iron's friendly against Barnsley on Saturday and Knill is waiting for the player to make a decision on his future. "We've had an enquiry about Andy so we've pulled him out of the game," said Knill. "I'm not going to name the club involved but we'll wait and see what happens with that. "I told him who it is so we'll let him think about it over the weekend."
