Karel Fraeye has urged Charlton supporters to remain behind their players after they were jeered off following a 2-0 loss to Wolves.

The South London side remain in the Sky Bet Championship relegation zone after Jordan Graham's second-half strike and Harry Lennon's late own goal.

"Focusing on the negativity won't help the players. As staff, we have to focus on what we must improve on," Fraeye said. "Nobody is happy at the situation which we are in, and I think what is needed in January will be done.

"It was a tight first half, the second half we were at times less sharp in both boxes - defensively as well as offensively.

"We got punished for that. Wolves have the players with pace and technique to hurt us."

The only incident of note in the first half occurred when Charlton were forced into a change just before the break when Ademola Lookman was substituted by Simon Makienok.

The Danish striker made an immediate impression on the game, although it came in bizarre circumstances when he accidentally clashed with referee Keith Hill - leaving the official unable to continue in the second half.

Graham got on the scoresheet on 52 minutes, when a powerful run from Benik Afobe down the right led to him crossing to the 20-year old, who was on hand to tap in.

With the home fans clearly annoyed at both their team going behind and ongoing ownership issues with the club, Afobe nearly doubled the lead with a low drive, but Stephen Henderson was on hand to turn it away.

The game was effectively over as a contest with eight minutes remaining when Lennon was credited with a goal from a corner by Graham.

Wolves manager Kenny Jackett believed the ability of his side to take the lead on a regular basis helped gain the result.

"The first goal was pivotal, the first half there was once chance for Afobe who took it on his chest," he said. "The second period we got the first goal, which in the Championship is big, and that is the fifth game on the trot that we've got the first goal.

"After that we managed the game very well, and I am delighted to see that second one go in. Defensively we negated Charlton.

"We've been waiting for Jordan Graham to get that first goal, he's capable of cutting inside and shooting."
