New Leeds defender Alex Bruce has revealed he turned down a move to Sheffield United in favour of a switch to Elland Road.
The 25-year-old joined the Whites on Friday after the Championship club agreed an undisclosed fee with Ipswich for his services.
Bruce had previously held talks with Kevin Blackwell's Blades but admits a move to Leeds was his preferred option.
"I went to Sheffield to see them last week," he told Leeds' official website.
"Then I got a phone call telling me about Leeds' interest and my mind was all on coming here.
"A fee had to be agreed with Ipswich but once that was all done it was straightforward.
"Everyone knows the kind of club this is. It's a huge club with a massive fan base and great support.
"It's an ambition of mine to help this club get promoted again."
