Bristol City manager Gary Johnson has rubbished suggestions that Sheffield United have made an approach for goalkeeper Adriano Basso.
The 34-year-old is expected to leave Ashton Gate this summer after rejecting a new contract and handing in a transfer request.
City's Championship rivals United have emerged as rumoured contenders for Basso's signature as they look to build a squad capable of earning promotion.
But Johnson insists he has not been contacted by Blades boss Kevin Blackwell regarding the sot-stopper.
When asked about Basso, Johnson said: "Until somebody speaks to me then it's speculation. We've received no calls."
