Kazim-Richards's on stand-by

Sheffield United's Colin Kazim-Richards has been put on standby for Turkey.

Sheffield United striker Colin Kazim-Richards has been put on standby by the Turkey manager Fatih Terim for Wednesday's Euro 2008 qualifier with Norway.

The 20-year-old made his Under-21 debut at the weekend and marked it with a goal in the 2-1 win over Switzerland.

"I was happy with my all-round contribution and scoring the goal was the icing on the cake," he said on the club's website.

"The Turkish were very good technically and the passing was excellent. They know possession is very important and they don't give it away easily.

"The manager and coaches just told me I was part of the family and I fitted in straight away."
