Midfielder Michael Tonge has signed a new two-year deal to stay at Premiership newcomers Sheffield United.
The 23-year-old Mancunian came through the youth ranks in South Yorkshire, and made a renewed impact at Bramall Lane towards the end of last season when playing in a central midfield role.
Blades boss Neil Warnock has welcomed the signing and predicts a bright future for his young combatant.
"He is another one committed to the cause, I believe he will blossom in The Premiership," the United manager told the club's website.
"Not only that, but I think that being able to retain the services of players of his calibre shows that we mean business.
"It sends out the right message inside and outside the camp. Michael is a smashing lad and he showed that good attitude he's got last season."
