Wright questions future

Sheffield United defender Alan Wright has suggested he may return to Derby County.

Sheffield United defender Alan Wright has suggested he may return to Derby County, where he played on loan this season.

The former Aston Villa man moved to The Rams in February, but was back with The Blades after just seven games because of a hamstring injury.

The 34-year-old left back has hinted there is the possibility of a permanent move to Pride Park, despite Neil Warnock's men earning promotion back into The Premiership.

"I wouldn't rule a move out," he commented. "But there are a lot of questions that need answering.

"I signed for another 12 months with Sheffield United before I came out on loan, so would they want me to leave?

"Would Derby want me to come and would there be a fee involved?

"Derby are a club geared towards being successful and, if I come back next season, I will be doing my best to achieve that," he said.

County are guaranteed Championship football next season, but will be looking to improve on this season's finish in the bottom half of the table.
