Kim Bo-Kyung has left Cardiff City after his contract with the Championship side was cancelled by mutual consent.
A statement on Cardiff’s official website confirmed the midfielder has left the club with immediate effect.
South Korean international Kim made 64 appearances for Cardiff, including 28 in the Premier League, after joining the south Wales side from Japanese side Cerezo Osaka in 2012.
The 25-year-old was named as the South-East Asian Player of the Year at the 2013 Asian Football Awards held at Wembley Stadium.
Speaking exclusively to Sky Sports, Awards founder Baljit Rihal said: “Kim Bo-Kyung has served Cardiff well since arriving in 2012. He helped them secure promotion to the Premier League and stayed with the club when they dropped into The Championship.
“He has made an extremely positive contribution to British football and is well regarded within the Asian community as a role model. It was a pleasure to honour him at the Asian football Awards in 2013.
“I am sure Kim will find a new club very soon. I sincerely hope he stays on in England and continues to inspire Asians in football.”
