Wigan Athletic manager Uwe Rosler has expressed his delight at sealing a loan deal for Chelsea's Josh McEachran, branding him "one of the country's finest young talents".
McEachran, 20, has joined Latics on loan until the end of the season having previously been at Watford, where he made seven appearances; he has also had successful loan spells at Middlesbrough and Swansea in previous campaigns.
The England Under-21 international has made 11 appearances for Chelsea, and he is contracted at Stamford Bridge until 2017.
Rosler's Wigan lie 11th in the Championship table and they were unbeaten in the league under the German's reign until the weekend, when they were thumped away at Doncaster 3-0.
"This is a big scoop or us. There's no doubt Josh is a huge young talent, and we have worked really hard to convince him and Chelsea this is the right place for him to be for the rest of the season," Rosler told Wigan's official site.
Rosler hopes his new signing can aid them in their hunt for a play-off spot, and added: "I thank everyone for their efforts in making the move happen.
"Hopefully, we will be able to help each other, he can bring something to our team and we can help in the development of one of the country's finest young talents."
McEachran will be in line to make his debut when they take on Crystal Palace in the FA Cup fourth round.
