Wigan Athletic midfielder James McCarthy is looking forward to Saturday's clash at Swansea City and hopes to push on from a good result last time out.

The Latics drew 2-2 with high-flying Everton before the international break and are now targeting a first win in the Premier League since August.

McCarthy says spirits are high in the Wigan camp, although he is anticipating a tough match against a Swansea side that started the season strongly before struggling in their next few games.

"A game against Swansea is always going to be difficult much like every game in this league," McCarthy told his club's official website.

"We'll go there and give it our best shot and we certainly won't be going to the game taking it lightly because they have got great quality in their squad.

"We worked hard last time out and now we want to try and turn what was a great performance into a great result.

"If we can keep building up the points then we can kick on from that momentum."
