Fulham tipped to renew interest in Aberdeen youngster

Fulham could be set to snap up Fraser Fyvie for a bargain price in the summer, with the promising Aberdeen youngster feeling it is the right time to move. The teenager has told Dons Boss Craig Brown he has no intention of signing a new contract at Pittodrie when his current deal expires at the end of the year. Aberdeen will be forced to sell the midfielder in the close season or face the prospect of receiving only a compensation fee when he leaves. But any money the club do receive will be a pittance in comparison to the £5million price tag Brown put on the player in February. Fulham were close to a deal for Fyvie last year but the Premier League outfit were only prepared to pay £1million and the deal fell through. And Fulham, who also recently signed Aberdeen defender Jack Grimmer for £200,000, will be well aware they can now get their man at a cut-price fee. Aberdeen-born Fyvie told the Daily Record: "I need to go to progress my career. I feel it's the right time for me to try my luck elsewhere and see what happens. "I may be taking a big gamble but sometimes you have to take a risk. I feel I want to go and challenge myself." Norwich have also expressed an interest in Fyvie and the prospect of the two clubs entering into a bidding war for the 19-year-old could help to drive up the price.
