Camara laid low for Latics

Wigan striker Henri Camara has been ruled out for six weeks through injury.

Wigan have a striker crisis on their hands after Henri Camara was ruled out for six weeks through injury.

The speedy forward picked up a knee knock during last Saturday's defeat to Sheffield United.

Scans have shown Camara has suffered medial ligament damage and that he will be out of action until the end of January.

With Lee McCulloch facing a three-match ban it leaves Latics boss Pau Jewell short of options in attack ahead of the busy festive period.

"Henri is probably going to be six weeks. He has done his medial ligament - and that's a big blow," said Jewell.

"It comes on top of Lee McCulloch getting a three-match ban, who pleaded guilty to the FA charge.

"Lee has let himself down a little bit. He's upset about it, so are we, and I can't condone what he did."

Jewell has been forced to recall Polish youngster Tomasz Cywka from his loan spell at Oldham to bolster his squad.
