Wigan poised to land Hall

Wigan are reportedly on the verge of signing Crystal Palace defender Fitz Hall.

Wigan are reportedly on the verge of signing Crystal Palace defender Fitz Hall.

The Latics surpassed all expectations last season but have struggled to strengthen their squad over the course of the summer.

Manager Paul Jewell has failed with a number of high-profile bids, including West Brom trio Curtis Davies, Zoltan Gera and Nathan Ellington, but looks certain to succeed in landing Hall.

The 25-year-old is believed to have completed his medical over the weekend and is close to putting pen-to-paper on a four-year deal.

Hall was an integral member of the Palace side to challenge for promotion last term but The Eagles are likely to part with him for a fee in the region of £3 million.
