Next Fulham manager: Caretaker Kit Symons the bookmakers' favourite for permanent role

Caretaker manager Kit Symons is the 3/1 favourite to be Fulham’s next manager following confirmation of Felix Magath’s departure on Thursday.

Magath collected just one point from seven games in the Sky Bet Championship having failed to keep Fulham in the Premier League last season.

Under fire Newcastle boss Alan Pardew, who is the favourite to be the next Premier League manager to leave his post, is also a strong candidate at 7/2.

Sky Bet trader Jamie Munro said: “There’s no shortage of contenders for the job and we expect to see the likes of Alan Curbishley (8/1) and Tim Sherwood (12/1) heavily backed as well as the frontrunners.

“But Symons is in a prime position to assume the job on a permanent basis after stepping up from his role with the academy to steer the ship. Having said that, Neil Lennon has had some early support in the betting at 6/1.”
