Winger expected to undergo medical in Nottingham on Monday

Sky Sports News sources understand Nottingham Forest are set to win the race to sign ADO Den Haag winger Wesley Verhoek. Forest are thought to be closing on a deal for the Dutchman, with the 24-year-old expected to arrive in Nottingham to undergo a medical on Monday. Verhoek has attracted interest from Fulham and Rangers this summer, with both clubs having reportedly seen bids rejected. However, Steve McClaren's Forest now appear to have beaten them to the punch. The winger is also being chased by top clubs in Holland, but has stated he would prefer a move abroad. Forest boss McClaren is thought to have been alerted to Verhoek during his spell managing FC Twente in the Eredivisie.
