Burnley manager Owen Coyle has revealed that no offers have been received by the club for any of their star players, despite speculation surrounding a number of the Clarets' squad.
The Clarets' run to the semi-finals of the Carling Cup has not gone unnoticed by Premier League clubs and Chris Eagles and Kevin McDonald are just two of Coyle's men to be linked with a move away from Turf Moor.
However, the former St Johnstone boss insists that he has no intention of allowing any of his players to leave before the transfer window slams shut on Monday evening.
"I can't stop clubs from looking at our players and making offers for them and I think we've got some wonderful players here who could play for most clubs up and down the country, so we don't want to lose them," Coyle told
skysports.com.
"We are trying to build a team here, so losing our best players wouldn't fall into our plans and that is what we will continue to do.
"At this moment it is hypothetical because we haven't received any offers for our players and being the manager I hope that will continue to be the case."
Aspirations
While the Clarets have shone in the cup competitions their league form has gone out of the window in recent weeks, failing to win in their last six games, and Coyle is desperate to bring that barren spell to end against Charlton on Saturday.
"It gives them a taste to aspire at the level (in the cup), but to do that we need to get ourselves in the play-off mix once again, with two home games coming up," he added.
"It is important that we kick start the league campaign once again because otherwise our hard work in the first-half of the season will go to waste."
Meanwhile, despite Coyle's desire to retain the core of his squad, Gabor Kiraly continues to be strongly linked with a move to Bayer Leverkusen.
The Hungarian goalkeeper has failed to force his way into the first team fold at Turf Moor this season and is believed to be open to the prospect of a move to Germany.
Reports suggest he opened talks with Leverkusen on Thursday and could complete the formalities of the switch before the weekend.
