Frenchman poised for switch as Healy arrives on Wearside

Marseille striker Djibril Cisse is on the verge of completing his switch to Sunderland. The Ligue 1 club confirmed on Wednesday that they had reached an 'agreement in principle' for Cisse to join the Black Cats on a season-long loan deal. The France international is now undergoing a medical in the North East and looks poised to seal his return to the Premier League after previously spending three years at Liverpool. "They might be foreign but it's important to bring in players who know the Premier League," manager Roy Keane said in the Daily Star. "We didn't use the loan deal too much last year but this time we have been looking at that."

Healy

Meanwhile, Sky Sports News understands Fulham striker David Healy has arrived on Wearside to undergo a medical and hold talks with the club. Keane is eager to further bolster his front line after he confirmed teenager Martyn Waghorn has been ruled out for 10 weeks with a knee injury. "I had three players on the shopping list, it's gone up to four after the weekend," Keane said on the club's official website. "It (the injury to Waghorn) has made my mind up to bring in another attacking player to the club. I would expect to hear something in the next 24-48 hours."
