Crossley keen to stay an Owl

Fulham goalkeeper Mark Crossley looks set to remain at Sheffield Wednesday.

Fulham goalkeeper Mark Crossley looks set to remain at Sheffield Wednesday, with the two clubs close to agreeing an extension to his loan period at Hillsborough.

Crossley became Brian Laws' first signing when he dropped down to the Championship in November and it now looks as though he will remain there until the end of the season.

The 37-year-old is confident that he still has plenty of football left in him, even going as far as to suggest he would be willing to remain at Wednesday for the next 18 months.

"I'm loving every minute of it," said Crossley.

"We're not too far away. I think Fulham have agreed to let me come on loan until the end of the season.

"I'd like to make the move longer and go for 18 months. Fulham do want a 24-hour recall in case anything drastic happens, but they've assured me they wouldn't call me back unless it was drastic."
