Troyes take on Legwinski

Troyes have revealed that Fulham midfielder Sylvain Legwinski is on trial at the club.

Troyes have revealed that Fulham midfielder Sylvain Legwinski is on trial at the club, although the experienced Frenchman would prefer to remain in England.

The midfielder will spend three days training with the Ligue 1 club as he considers a move back to his homeland after previously representing Monaco and Bordeaux.

Following five seasons in London, it will be a wrench for the 33-year-old to leave Craven Cottage after providing value for money on the capital club's £3.3 million investment back in 2001.

The arrival of Jimmy Bullard from Wigan Athletic has helped signal the end of Legwinski's Fulham career and he will be hoping to get fixed up with a new club as soon as possible.

Chris Coleman is unlikely to stand in the popular player's way, even though he still has a year remaining on his contract.

"They are running the rule over him for a couple of days," agent Craig Hutchison explained to skysports.com. "He wants to play and doesn't want to sit out the final year of his contract at Fulham.

"His strong preference is to stay in England and we hope it happens but, in case that does not happen, we want to keep all options open.

"Troyes were keen to have a look at him."
