Rosenior wants duo to stay

Liam Rosenior has urged Papa Bouba Diop and Steed Malbranque to stay at Fulham.

Liam Rosenior feels Papa Bouba Diop and Steed Malbranque would be foolish to leave Fulham in January.

Midfield pair Bouba Diop and Malbranque are two of Fulham's most prized assets and have been attracting admiring glances from Premiership rivals in the last year.

Cottagers boss Chris Coleman fears the pair could have their heads turned in January, but defender Rosenior feels Fulham are ready to blossom and has urged his team-mates to stay loyal.

"They are my team-mates, I get on with them as people but when you are on the pitch and look around you want to see the likes of Diop and Malbranque on the pitch as you know what they can do and you know they can help you individually and as a team," Rosenior told Sky Sports News.

"I desperately want them to stay here and I think there is no reason for them to want to leave as I think there are a lot of good things that are going to happen at this club."

Fulham are hovering dangerously above the drop zone and Rosenior feels the festive period could shape their season.

"We could either be fighting in the relegation places or pushing on towards the Uefa Cup places," added Rosenior. "These games are important to us, but every game is important, worth three points, and we will be looking to get as many points on the board as possible before January."
