Taylor hints at Fulham exit

FULHAM keeper Maik Taylor has revealed that he may leave The Cottagers if he fails to retain his first-team place when Edwin Van der Sar returns from injury.

The Dutch international has been out of action for Fulham for the past month, after breaking a bone in his foot against Newcastle, leading to manager Jean Tigana turning to Taylor.

Taylor has started Fulham's last four Premiership matches, but is fearful of being resigned to the sidelines upon Van der Sar's recovery from injury.

"If the right deal came in, I would consider going somewhere else to get first-team football," explained Taylor.

"Once Edwin is fit again, I imagine he will be back in the team. I don't expect anything other than being left out because Edwin has been one of our most consistent performers.

"I've just got to play as well as I can and give the manager something to think about."
