Middlesbrough have handed a professional deal to youngster Andre Bennett.
17-year-old Bennett joined Boro's highly acclaimed academy last year as a scholar, and has progressed well.
Bennett, who can play full-back or in midfield, has now agreed a professional deal with the Championship club.
He confirmed via his Twitter account that he had agreed terms, saying: "Words can't describe how I'm feeling right now! Delighted to be offered a PRO contract and a big thanks to my parents for all their support!
Bennett's father is Sunderland legend Gary - who is now a coach within Boro's academy. His uncle is former Coventry winger Dave Bennett.
