Former Swansea loanee is top target for new boss

Swansea have made a bid of £3million for Middlesbrough striker Marvin Emnes, according to Sky sources. New manager Michael Laudrup has wasted little time in looking to strengthen his squad ahead of the new Premier League campaign by making a bid for the Dutchman. The 24-year-old striker made quite an impression on the South Wales club during a one-month loan spell at the Liberty Stadium in the autumn of 2010. He scored two goals in five appearances under former boss Brendan Rodgers. Emnes enjoyed his best season for Boro as they missed out on the Championship play-offs last season, netting an impressive 18 goals. And with the Teessiders looking to trim their wage bill this summer, the former Sparta Rotterdam player has become a top target for the Swans.
