Middlesbrough have handed a contract to Curtis Main after he impressed during a trial stint.
The 18-year-old Main was regarded as one of the top prospects in North East football after making his debut at just 15.
However, Main parted company with the Quakers earlier this month and has been looking at a number of options.
The young forward spent a brief time training with Hartlepool before being offered the chance to try his luck with Boro.
Main has now impressed Tony Mowbray and his staff and has penned a one-year deal with an option for another.
"Curtis has signed for Middlesbrough and is absolutely delighted to get a chance to join such a good club," Tom Curle of McHale Sports confirmed to skysports.com.
"Curtis is now focused on working hard and proving himself at Middlesbrough."
