Southgate pays tribute to experienced coach

Middlesbrough first-team coach Steve Harrison has left after seven years with the club. Making the announcement, manager Gareth Southgate paid tribute to Harrison, 55, who has suffered some health problems in recent seasons, and the "vital role" he had performed at the club. He has been replaced as first-team coach by Steve Agnew, who steps up from the reserve team, while Academy coach Martin Scott takes over reserve duties. Harrison moved to Middlesbrough from Aston Villa to work alongside Steve McClaren and had previously worked with the full England squad under Graham Taylor. He has also coached at Millwall, Crystal Palace, Wolves and Preston, while he made appearances for Blackpool, Vancouver Whitecaps, Watford and Charlton during his playing career.
