Egyptian eager to succeed in Premier League

Middlesbrough new boy Mohamed Shawky is hoping to make an impact in the Premier League. The Egyptian secured a £650,000 move to Teesside from African champions Al Ahly on transfer deadline day. He is excited to have joined and is now looking forward to a long and successful Premier League career. "I'm very happy to have come to Middlesbrough," Shawky told the club's official website. "All the players here are very, very good and I've watched a lot of English football and it's very strong. "Club football in Africa is not as quick as it is here. In England the game is very quick. "In Egypt the weather is very hot and I know it gets cold here, but that doesn't worry me. "I hope I can play well and help the team in as many matches as I can."

Mido thanks

Shawky insists he has settled in very quickly, with the help of compatriot and fellow summer signing Mido. "Mido is a good friend to me. I've played with him in the national team and we've known each other since junior football," Shawky added. "He's helping me with everything. He's also a very good player."
